I know a some people who build their own computers who will use one brand of monitor with another brand of processor ie, Dell monitor with HP processor. Is this safe for your computer? Are there any processing issues to consider?

If you use a Dell monitor with an HP computer then your system will work perfectly fine. Mixing different monitors with different desktop computers is very common and therefore feel free to mix and match.
