How much memory can XP actually see. If I had 8gb memory in my computer would it see all of it, if not would it still use all of it?

There are two version of Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit). If you have the 32-bit version of XP then the operating system will only see and use a max of 3GB (sometimes it will be a little more depending on your motherboard). If you're using the 64-bit version of XP then your computer would see and use the full 8GB of RAM.

Basically, it's pointless to install more then 3GB of RAM in a 32-bit operating system.
