How many SATA hard drives on a channel?

    How many SATA hard drives can be installed on a single channel? Do they use a similar system as SCSI which are daisy chained together?

    SATA hard drives cannot be daisy chained because they transmit data serially. So 1 SATA controller means 1 SATA hard drive.
