My computer had a problem like this before. I resorted to formatting the computer in order to make it very clean. What could be the cause of this problem besides virus? How could we prevent as well as solve this if we have this problem?

Ctrl + Alt + Del not working

The most common cause of this problem is a virus or spyware infection. So scan your computer for viruses and spyware. If that doesn't fix your problem then try typing "taskmgr.exe" in the Run box and see if that brings up the Task Manager.
Another solution would be to do a system restore to time when the crtl+alt+del did work.
