My Gateway DX4640 made a whistling sound followed shortly by mouse cursor disappearing. After rebooting several times the power button would light, fade, brighten, fade, brighten, but computer would not load. Any ideas?

Thanks,

My mother uses a Gateway EV910 monitor for 5 years. Lately, every time she starts her computer, the screen would turn pink for the first time. She's not a computer savvy and so am I. Is something wrong with the screen?

With all the trouble I am having with my MPC, does it make sense to even repair since these will be faded out in a few years. Will they still offer support?

I am using Windows XP on this computer but that's the only thing that loads. I can adjust a few other things but not much. Do I need to get a new computer?

Is it the norm for this computer to have problems charging? I would normally leave it on if I am going to use it shortly, the power ran out, but even after plugging it in. It is still not charging.

A friend of mine reformatted his Gateway Laptop. Now his monitor won't show up everytime he starts the computer. The gateway intro and Windows XP intro shows up. But the monitor will then go black after the welcome sound of XP. What could be the problem?
