It sounds like your RAM is failing or you might have a problem with your hard drive. If you have multiple sticks of RAM in your computer then take one out and see if the problem persists.

It could also be the motherboard is failing as that model of Dell has a horrible problem with the motherboard.

i have a dell dimension desktop e520 that runs w/ windows vista and it keeps seizing up. it will run for 10 minutes or so then seize up. nothing responds, not the mouse the keyboard or the ctrl, alt del. i did a factory restore using the recovery cd that came with it but it didnt solve the problem. i even tried using it in safe mode with no luck to issue. i dont know waht to do next.

I think we have the password problem straightened out.
Thank you for answering my tech question promptly.however the results were negative. I will try again.
Some of my local "experts" tell me it is a driver problem.

Yes, you can install that keyboard on your Dimension 4400. As long as you have a USB port and at least Windows XP then you'll be fine.

Speaking from experience, new Dell computers are not as reliable as they were in the past. I would recommend buying a HP or Lenovo business class computer, as they seem to be very reliable lately.

Is it true that Dell does not support computers bought through Best Buy? I saw one recently that caught my eye but I would not want to purchase it if it is not covered by Dell support.

My dad asked me to look at his laptop because his card reader is not working, normally there would be a pop up to alert us that a new drive has been introduce but we are not getting that so we don't know if it's actually reading it.

I normally leave my laptop on if I will be off even for a few hours. Sometimes it's difficult to bring up the computer screen after that. I normally have to press the power button.

My friend have an old Dell PC and he have been using it for years. He feel so satisfied and confident with it. So, when it comes to buying PC, he recommended me to choose Dell and not other brands. Do you think Dell is the best choice (especially in terms of durability and reliability) for PCs?
