How to Pin a Program to Taskbar in Windows 7

In this tutorial I will show you how to pin a program to the Taskbar in Windows 7. One of the new features of Windows 7 is the ability to pin, or attach, a program to the Taskbar. This feature is very handy and makes the process of multitasking very fast and simple. When one of the pined programs is being used you can hover over the program icon and see a preview of the program window running. You can also change the order of the pined programs on the Taskbar by dragging it anywhere you want. Once a program is pined to the Taskbar you can remove it easily or change some other features of the program. Start multitasking now and follow our tutorial.


1. Click on the Start button.

2. Then click on All Programs and find the program that you want to pin to the Taskbar.

3. Once you find the program you want then open the program folder by clicking on it.

4. Now right-click on the program file and when the option menu appears select the Pin to Taskbar option.

5. Now your favorite program is pined to the Taskbar for quick and easy access.


– To unpin a program from the Taskbar right-click it and select Unpin.
