Steps:

1. If possible, download the latest version of Combofix from the Bleeping Computer website and place it on your desktop. If your infected computer can’t connect to the internet then download the program from another computer and place the file on a USB stick and then copy the file over to the desktop.

2. Now click the Start button and then find the Run option and open it.

3. In the text box, type in “msconfig” and then press enter.

4. Once the msconfig screen pops up then click the Boot tab and then select Safeboot and then Networking option.

5. Next, click on the Startup tab and press the Disable All button. This will disable all the unnecessary programs from starting up when Windows boots.

6. Then click the OK button and you will be asked to restart your computer. Click Restart and let the computer restart into safemode. If you are not prompted to restart then you can manually restart your computer.

7. Now the computer will restart in Safe Mode. Once the computer boots up you will receive a warning message asking you if you want to enter Safe Mod. Click Yes and you will now see your desktop.

8. Make sure you are connected to the internet and then open the Combofix program.

9. As the Combofix program runs, just follow on the screen instructions. While the program is running do not open or use any other programs. Also, if the Safe Mode warning pops up again do not click it. In fact, while Combofix is scanning your computer do not click anything.

10. When Combofix has finished scanning and cleaning your computer it will create a report of all the files it has deleted. This log file is always located under the C: drive.

11. Now you open up the MSConfig program again and this time under the General tab select the Normal Startup option. Then click on the Startup tab and disable any program that looks suspicious. Reading the Combofix log file will help you determine which files can be disabled from startup. Click the OK button and then restart your computer.

12. Once your computer reboots into Windows open up your internet browser and download Malwarebytes from the Malwarebytes.org website. Install the Malwarebytes software, run the updates and select the Perform Full Scan option then press the Scan button.

13. When the scan completes click the Show Results button and then select the Delete button. This will remove all the the spyware and malware from your computer. Some times Malwarebytes will need to reboot your computer to complete the removal process. Click Yes to restart.

14. Your computer is now free from annoying spyware.
